It will sometimes play for a long time with no incident. The audio abruptly goes silent rather than fading out and Audible is in pause mode and I have to manually resume playback to continue. I have since noticed a slightly different version of this problem with the Audible app. It would continue playing but it would be silent. Sometimes, the audio would fade out but the player would not pause. I first noticed this with the Waking Up meditation app. For me, the problem is slightly different than you describe and it manifests differently in different apps.

This has been driving me crazy since upgrading to Android 12 immediately upon release. I will try shutting down my watch and see if that changes things. And like everybody else it doesn't matter what headphones I am using. The problem started exactly when I got onto the Android 12 beta. I very intentionally play only music that I know I have on my phone well I'm working outside and may not have cell coverage or Wi-Fi coverage. And I think it's because there's a weird strong default for streaming even when you have music or media downloaded to your phone. If I stayed away from the Wi-Fi away from where there's even cell signal coverage, no pausing issues. I would be working on something that would have me drive up and down our driveway and every time I got in range of the Wi-Fi it would pause when I would leave the range of the Wi-Fi it would pause. If I go outside where the cell signal is spotty and the Wi-Fi coverage is also spotty away from the house I get pausing issues If I sit in the middle of my house bathed in Wi-Fi I have no problems with pausing. I think it has to do with detecting changes in connectivity both cell and Wi-Fi. * Some noted ties to wearables, particularly glucose monitors * Uninstalling the Roku App seems to work for many. There are a few suggestions that seem to help some users. This appears to be a problem many are experiencing across multiple devices. Hoping there is a fix that does not involve going through a factory reset. I did some googling, but I didn't see other people mentioning it. I have restarted the phone multiple times and set each of the apps to unrestricted battery usage. It sometimes happens repeatedly in a short time and sometimes lets me get through longer listening periods before pausing.I am almost always listening on bluetooth, but it has occurred with multiple BT headsets.
